odear, How do I send you a message through wikimapia?
  • St.Joseph's Convent school, odear wrote 16 years ago:
Hi Ransom You’re right, now I recollect Ralf actually was from Bahrain. I don’t know how it stuck in my mind it was Dubai, perhaps at that time we had known only Dubai to be the entire Arabian gulf. It was really nice of you to drop these lines. You can send me a message through wikimpia if you so wish. We can share a lot more of those golden days. Thanks and Regards

My first year at boarding shool was in 1969. I thought that since we were so high in the mountains I would be able to wave to the men landing on the moon for the very first time. I was very young. It was fun remembering this school. The setup of the boarding school (Peter's Land), the main school (Josha's Land) and the stadium (the bricklayer, the bandmaster and the cook) is very much different from when I was there. I was just reading Wiki about some the famous alumni that include a Pakistani Prime Minister, to a famous fast bowler, to a CIA assassin. See this Wiki http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St_Francis_Grammar_School,_Quetta. By the way, on that nigth the moon was nearly full and I did wave.

Hello odear Ralph Lobo used to be in Bahrain, and so was I, and he immigrated to Australia with his whole family after completing his O levels in 1972. I believe he was/is in Melbourne, but I have no contact with him nor his family. Try facebook; there is even a group for SJC and SFGS Best wishes from a former SJC Quetta-ite Ransom

Manzoor Hussain you are right about the name of the school, I corrected it. You can add the Labor Hall to this map yourself if you want to, that's what Wikimapia is all about.
