I am Dr Irfan from Karachi. I was a Grammarian from 1963 to 1969 – in fact I got admission in St Joseph Convent School on the other side of Lytton Road in Nursery class as was the routine in those days and was there upto class 2, after which boy students were sent to the Grammar School. Joining class 3 in 1963, I found Mrs Bannet to be a hard taskmaster. I remember that Father Joshua was the principal as long as I was there. Some of the other names I remember are : Ms Shirley Clagg, Ms Victoria Fazal Din, Mrs Bannett, Mrs Patel I was particularly fond of the library and used to eagerly look forward to the weekly library period. – there was such a beautiful collection of books. The librarian ‘Mr Alam’ was a nice friendly person. I used to read ‘Enid Blyton” books – these were also issued by the library. This library developed in me an early taste for god books. Some of my friends and class fellows of those days, the M.A. Syed, Zia Gorchai, Ali Gohar Shah, Ali Murad Shah, Fazal. Ralph Lobo I went to Quetta in 1882 and then in 2005 – and both the times passed by the school.
